What is browser-based digital signage?

Browser-based digital signage is a simple and cost-effective way to display content on any device with a web browser and internet access.

Whether it’s a PC, a tablet, or a smart TV, any device with a compatible browser can serve as a digital signage player, making it an ideal solution for a quick digital signage deployment.

The most common web browsers to use for digital signage are Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

You’ve probably already come across browser-based digital signage in various forms: digital restaurant menu boards, information boards in lobbies, or interactive kiosks at retail stores.

To get started, you’ll only need a digital signage software with a web player that will turn your displays into digital signs.

Yodeck Web Player limitations and why Raspberry Pi is the better choice

The Yodeck Web Player provides a quick and easy way to start with digital signage, allowing you to playback content without the need for external hardware. However, it comes with certain limitations that make it less suitable for large-scale deployments.

For example, the Web Player doesn’t support 4K resolution, lacks remote device management capabilities, and is incompatible with some of Yodeck’s most popular digital signage apps.

For a more robust and reliable solution, the Raspberry Pi-based Yodeck Player is the perfect choice.

Specifically engineered for digital signage and powered by the world’s most secure and reliable microcomputer, the Raspberry Pi Yodeck Player delivers enterprise-grade performance at an affordable price. It also supports over 80 free Yodeck apps that will take your digital signage operations to the next level.
